Large Binocular Telescope Observatory
C-19 mode supported during 2022B semester        Posted on 12 August 2022

The LBT Observatory will continue to support and encourage use of the C-19 observing mode during the 2022B semester.  In this mode, which was initiated in response to the pandemic, LBTO staff perform the observing from Tucson while partner observers participate through eavesdropping from their home institution.  Service observing is the preferred mode although partners can remotely operate the instruments and conduct observations subject to coordination and adequate testing in advance. At the current time travel to Tucson or Mt Graham is allowed in instances where an on-site presence is important for the success of the observing program.
